Neelam Hussain is the Curator of Middle Eastern Manuscripts at the Cadbury Research Library, University of Birmingham. Her research, teaching and exhibitions have focused on early Qur’an manuscripts and, more recently, on Mughal art and history. Her curated exhibition, ‘The Mughals: Power & Beauty at the Indian Court’, was on display at Barber Institute of Fine Arts in February 2020. Neelam is also an AHRC Midlands4Cities DTP-funded PhD Candidate at the Department of English and the Department of Theology and Religion, at the University of Birmingham. Her research considers the transmission of Arabic literature and thought to Europe during the medieval period with a focus on manuscript studies. She tweets @N_S_Hussain.
